7Hills Launches Solution for People Logistics & Billing

The People Logistics & Billing Solution is deployed to a leading logistics and transportation provider in India. The solution targets companies that provide transportation services to their employees for pick up and drop off. The objective of deploying the solution is to provide better customer service through real-time planning, greater visibility and accurate billing.

The blocks in the People Logistics automation solution are:

  • Transaction management system TxMS : which captures all the transactions in the daily Employee Pick up and Drop operations
  • Route Planning system RoutePro : which can provide optimized route plans after managing important business constraints
  • Hand-held terminals HHT : for automated data capture and real-time transaction updating
  • GPS : for 'track and trace' and undeniably accurate trip data.

TxMS: The Transaction Management System Module (TxMS) of the solution is the core of the System captures every transaction that is executed in daily Pick up and Drop operations. The system also provides billing functionality for various service types for both customer and vendor. The system captures contractual details like Rates and SLA, maintain master list of vehicle and drivers, captures day to day transactions like checklist and trips. It interacts with external modules of system like (RoutePro, HHT and SAP) for seamless integration and data exchange.

RoutePro: Route Pro is a desktop application installed in each customer location which is capable of generating optimized routes with the help of geo code data. Any roster with employee shift information will be uploaded and system generates optimized routes. ETA calculation, Vehicle determination and employee assignment are inbuilt functionality of RoutePro. Planned trips are transferred to the central server Via FTP. Planned trips are uploaded to TXMS and actual are recorded in TxMS via real time interface.

HHT: The HHT captures the details of transactions at the point of operations with minimum data entry points by the users. This is aimed at reducing the paperwork of capturing the details of the transaction as well as repetition of the data entry in the Txms which will cause delay as well as errors. The accuracy of this data is critical as it is a direct input for billing and thus revenue.

GPS: The GPS captures the details of location of the vehicle, the time at the location and odometer readings at all vantage points. There is an active interfacing between all the inbuilt modules of the People Logistics Module. The inputs from this module are directly integrated with the Billing system, which helps the Client to generate accurate Bills to all the stake holders.

7Hills names Abhay Edlabadkar to serve as CEO and President

October 29, 2008 - 7Hills Business Solutions a leader in on-demand software solutions, consulting and BPO services for the Supply Chain & Logistics industry is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Abhay Edlabadkar as its CEO and President. Mr. Edlabadkar brings a depth of knowledge in strategy, finance, business management, operations and global M&A. He has joined the company in October 2008.

Most recently at II-VI Incorporated (Public, NASDAQ:IIVI), Mr. Edlabadkar led the corporate business development, strategic planning and global M&A activities in North America, Europe and Asia. He was also the President/General Manager of Pacific Rare Specialty Metals & Chemicals Company, located in the Philippines, where he led a successful restructuring, turnaround and integration program making PRM once again into a profitable global leader in its industry. He also serves on boards of private companies.

Prior to II-VI, Mr. Edlabadkar worked in senior leadership roles with Lucent Technologies, Agere Systems and TriQuint Semiconductors, where he was responsible for all optoelectronics operations including production & supply chain management, process engineering, quality and R&D across several product lines and material systems, and managed multiple wafer fabrication/packaging units in the US. Mr. Edlabadkar has also led significant management consulting assignments in operations excellence, strategy & automation and advised leaders at many Fortune 500 companies.

Mr. Edlabadkar has a MBA from Columbia University (Finance/Economics), a MS degree in Engineering (Automation/Robotics) from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Osmania University.

7Hills Welcomes Les Huet as the Director for Business Development

With a career spanning 25 years in the distribution and supply chain industry, Les brings a wealth of exceptional experience in operations, sales and marketing to 7Hills. He most recently served in leadership roles in new business sales and account management for supply chain software leaders RedPrairie and MARC Global, respectively. Prior to his involvement in the supply chain execution arena, Les was director of logistics management at Stuart Medical, as well as regional manager of business development and general manager of a regional operations center for Owens & Minor. His early involvement with distribution focused companies spanned positions in inventory management, procurement and strategic planning.

Donald L. Bremer joins 7Hills as the Director of Accounts Management


Donald L. Bremer has joined the staff of 7Hills as Director of Account Management and will be based in the Pittsburgh office of the pioneering international supply chain software and solutions provider.

With over 22 years of operational and systems experience in the supply chain industry, Bremer is eminently qualified to provide leadership for customer projects and relationships for 7Hills. New ARC Report Names 7Hills as Leading Model for Offshore Development

7Hills has been singled out by a leading industry analyst for its trailblazing and efficacious utilization of offshore resources.
